A few years ago, life and work took me for 9 months in the neighborhood of Kenya, to Zanzibar. I lived in the very center of Stone Town, got to know and feel the whole island. It’s a small community. After two days, everyone already knows everything about you, where you live, what you eat, where you shop, even everything you didn’t know about yourself.
The stay was more of a “site inspection” as we would say in television terms. I like to call it an “investment in the future” so that I would have enough time and days to check in peace what realy Zanzibar has to offer, to see for myself what is worth it, and what is pure “beautiful photoshopped and filtered photos”. I’ve seen it all, believe me…The places from the most beautiful dream, and those from the worst nightmare. In the era of large investments, construction, you can still find parts of the island of Zanzibar that are adorned with tranquility, authentic charm, and untouched white beaches. I often went to Michamwi after work, meetings. Just far from the noise and crowded, famous places. The only place on the island where the sun sets like nowhere else ….
